Twelve years ago, Sky Malone had a
dream. He dreamed that he was driving to a studio to record an album with
Chris Layton and Tommy Shannon, from Double Trouble. Now that dream has
finally become a reality. Sky Malone’s latest release, Texas Boy,
is an amazing culmination of talent, spirit, and destiny.
Raised around music, Sky Malone began playing guitar at the age of five
and began writing music at the age of ten. Sky’s musical journey brought
him from Lubbock to the Austin music scene ten years ago. Sky has been an
active part of the Austin live music scene, performing locally and at his
south Austin-style talent show held at a local outdoor venue called Loco
Maria’s.
Sky Malone has put together an unbelievably talented group of artists for
his album, Texas Boy. Double Trouble’s Tommy Shannon and Chris
Layton comprise the rhythm section for the album. David Grissom, who has
played with artists such as the Allman Brothers, Joe Ely, and many more,
plays lead guitar. Texas Boy also features Riley Osbourn, who has pounded
the keys with Willie Nelson and Jerry Jeff Walker. The skills of these
artists combine with the powerful songwriting and unique vocal styling of
Sky Malone to create an album that will leave music fans craving more. |
